Thankful for the Gift

I hope you enjoyed this month’s focus of thankfulness as much as I did. I think it’s awesome to focus on a month of thanksgiving to prepare our hearts to  celebrate a month of the greatest gift ever given to mankind . . . Jesus!!

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/isa.9.6.NASB1995

And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.2.7.NASB1995

Jesus, eight days old, is presented at the temple.

then he (Simeon, a priest) took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said, “Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation, Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, A Light of revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”
Luke 2:28-32 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.2.28-32.NASB1995

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.
1 John 5:1 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1jn.5.1.NASB1995

Are you ready to celebrate a month of Jesus and what He came to earth to do, in obedience to the Father? Let the celebration overflow into a new year. A new walk with Jesus. A new life encounter with Jesus.

To do this, you must make a decision to follow Jesus, believing He came as baby into the world to save the world from sin.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.6.23.NASB1995

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Ephesians 2:8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/eph.2.8.NASB1995

The gift we will celebrate as believers in Jesus Christ. And

being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
Romans 3:24 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.3.24.NASB1995

After praying, confessing your sins, asking God for forgiveness, turn from your sinful nature to walk with God.

Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/act.2.38.NASB1995

Now, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, you can walk in newness of life. Your gift of a new life is worth celebrating in Jesus. Let your December be a Merry one.

🌹so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Thankful for Family

Many people in America will be gathering tomorrow with family to share a family meal together. There may be a mingle of friends present and a time of sharing the years blessings of thankfulness. As we gather may we remember that God created families and thank Him for His perfect design of family.

“Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers?
Malachi 2:10 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mal.2.10.NASB1995

My prayer for you and your family today:

🙏For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/eph.3.14-19.NASB1995

🌹To our glorious Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You and Amen.

If you do not know the Father of the largest family on earth, please reach out to someone who is part of the family and ask them to introduce you to the Father.

Thankful for Friendship

A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
Proverbs 17:17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/pro.17.17.NASB1995

A friend is a companion.

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.
And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/ecc.4.9-12.NASB1995

A friend is someone we rejoice with.

When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!’
Luke 15:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.15.9.NASB1995

Friendship is a life long blessing when the Lord is the foundation for His glory.

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Colossians 3:12-17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/col.3.12-17.NASB1995

🙏Thank You, God, for giving friendships to us who are of like minds and hearts

🙏And thank You, Jesus, for being a close, intimate perfect example of friendship and for the blessing of being Your friend.

🌹Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Thankful for Spiritual Leaders

. . . Jesus *said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He *said to him, “Tend My lambs.”
He *said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He *said to him,             “Shepherd My sheep.”
He *said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus *said to him, “Tend My sheep.
John 21:15-17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.21.15-17.NASB1995

Thank God for our Pastors. Thank God for our Spiritual Leaders. Praise God with thankfulness of heart for those who serve God and pray for them regularly. Their obedience to the call of God has touched believers for the kingdom of God.

“My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence; so he revered Me and stood in awe of My name. True instruction was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity. For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
Malachi 2:5-7 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mal.2.5-7.NASB1995

Scriptures we can pray for our Spiritual leaders:

🙏Lord God, we pray for our Spiritual leaders that they would “Be on guard for themselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made them overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
Acts 20:28 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/act.20.28.NASB1995

May they “shepherd the flock of God . . ., exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:2-3 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1pe.5.2-3.NASB1995

So . . .

🌹. . . when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

Walking By Faith

Thankful for Jehovah Nissi

Jehovah Nissi: The Lord is my Banner

Banners Identify.
In movie war scenes you will see soldiers and the banner flying high. At the airport you may see a banner welcoming someone as they come off the plane. There are many kinds of banners – Celebration Banners, Notification Banners, Event Banners, etc. Even the sons of Israel had banners.

“The sons of Israel shall camp, each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ households; they shall camp around the tent of meeting at a distance.
Numbers 2:2 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/num.2.2.NASB1995

Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my Banner, has been given to those who fear (revere) Him, who walk in His truth. The Lord is our Banner.

You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
Psalms 60:4 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.60.4.NASB1995

Moses built an altar and named it The Lord is My Banner;
Exodus 17:15 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/exo.17.15.NASB1995

We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.
Psalms 20:5-6 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.20.5-6.NASB1995

Can you be identified by the Banner of Jehovah Nissi?

My hope is that you are thankful for Jehovah Nissi, the Lord your Banner.

Thankful for Jehovah Tsuri

Jehovah Tsuri: the Lord my Rock

One of my most favorite passages of scripture is Exodus 33. It is there that Moses asks to see God’s glory. God agrees to let Moses see Him hindsight, for God’s glory is too immense for any mortal to see His full glory. Moses is placed in the cleft of the rock. As God passes by He places His hand over the opening until Moses is safe to look.

Then the Lord said, “Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock; and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.
Exodus 33:21-22 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/exo.33.21-22.NASB1995

God protected Moses in the rock. If God can protect in the rock, He can certainly protect as the rock.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalms 18:2 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.18.2.NASB1995

There is no one holy like the Lord, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.
1 Samuel 2:2 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1sa.2.2.NASB1995

He said, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence.
2 Samuel 22:2-3 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/2sa.22.2-3.NASB1995

For who is God, besides the Lord? And who is a rock, besides our God?
2 Samuel 22:32 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/2sa.22.32.NASB1995

For You are my rock and my fortress; For Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
Psalms 31:3 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.31.3.NASB1995

On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Psalms 62:7 NASB1995

The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation,

Jehovah Tsidkenu

Jehovah Tsidkenu: the Lord our righteousness.

In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, ‘The Lord our righteousness.’
Jeremiah 23:6 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jer.23.6.NASB1995

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/2co.5.21.NASB1995

Without Jesus we have no righteousness.

By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
Hebrews 11:7 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.11.7.NASB1995

By faith may we be found in Jesus . . .

and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
Philippians 3:9 NASB1995

In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death.
Proverbs 12:28 NASB1995

🌹I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
