Philippians 1:3-5

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now.
Philippians 1:3‭-‬5 NASB

🌹First, I thank You, God through Jesus Christ, for the privilege to pray for my brothers and sisters whose faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world. Burden my heart and may I not neglect to pray unceasingly for all Christians that we would serve You, God, in our spirit and in the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus, Your Son. I join them because of Your sacrifice for me Jesus, my Savior. Amen.
Romans 1:8-9 NASB

Philippians 1:1-2

Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints (holy ones, i.e., God’s people) in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi* (a leading city of the district of Macedonia, a Roman colony) including the overseers and deacons: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:1‭-‬2 NASB

🌹As a holy one in You, Christ Jesus, I seek Your favor, not that of mankind, as Your bond-servant. I pray Lord God for Your called overseers who shepherd Your church which was purchased with Your own blood. I pray for Your called deacons who care for the members of Your body.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of Your great love with which You loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, You made us alive together with Christ. By grace we have been saved, and raised up with You, and seated us with You in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come You might show the surpassing riches of Your grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace we have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a wonderful gift of You, God; not as a result of works, so that we may not boast. Lord, lift up Your countenance upon us, And give us peace.’ Amen

Power of Prayer

They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt, Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the Red Sea. Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.
Psalms 106:21‭-‬23 NASB

See Exodus 32:11-14 and Deuteronomy 9:25-29

🌹On account of Your great name Lord God, because you have been pleased to make make us Your people, You will not abandon us. For this we are forever grateful to You.
Lord, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against You by ceasing to pray for Your people. Burden my heart to pray that they be instructed in the good and right way.
Lord, I fear and serve You in truth with all my heart for I consider what great things You have done for me. Keep me from doing wicked things so I will not be swept away. All to Your glory Lord God. Amen.

Shine

Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
Deuteronomy 34:10 NASB

Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend.
Exodus 33:11a NASB

It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.

So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses would replace the veil over his face until he went in to speak with Him.
Exodus 34:29‭-‬30‭, ‬35 NASB

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6 NASB

Does your light shine in the darkness?
Does Jesus shine in your heart from having  spent time with Him? Does your heart give the Light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus so others see?

🌹Time spent in prayer and reading the Bible, God’s Holy Word, is never wasted.

God, shine Your Light in and through me that others may see Your glory and come to the knowledge of You. Amen.

Just Rejoice

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
Philippians 4:4 NASB

Sometimes all we can do is throw our hands up and rejoice.

Sometimes it is easy. . . And sometimes it is hard.

When it is hard, rejoicing will refresh your perspective, lighten your burdens, and most of all redirect your thoughts, plans, motives, ideas, down heartedness, and eyes back to the One in whom we rejoice. Our Savior. Our Redeemer. Our Rock. Our solid ground. Our cornerstone. Our God! Our Everything!!

🌹GOD, I will rejoice greatly in You, my Lord. My soul will rejoice in my God; For You have clothed me with garments of salvation, and wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. In You, Lord God I will rejoice. In Jesus name, amen.
(Isaiah 61:10 NASB)

Our Helper

“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
John 14:25‭-‬26 NASB

“These things I, Jesus, have spoken to you”. The spoken word of Christ to His disciples. Who is Jesus?
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 NASB1995
Jesus, the Word made flesh. Jesus who spoke truth to His disciples. How do we hear Jesus? Through the Bible. Do you want to know God, His plans, His character, His love for you? Pick up the Bible and read it. Read it daily. Read it often. Listen to it. Obey it.

If you are a born again believer you have the Holy Spirit of God in you. How awesome is that?! He was given as a Helper who will teach us. As we read the Bible the Holy Spirit teaches us like Jesus taught the disciples. His spoken word.

The really awesome part of having the Holy Spirit residing in us is that when we fill our mind and heart with the word of God the Holy Spirit uses the Bible to direct our steps, speak truth, testify of Jesus and brings to remembrance the Word of God when needed.

🌹Jesus. Savior. Promise Keeper. Thank You for sending forth the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, upon us, who clothes us in the power from on high. The Holy Spirit, our Helper, sent by You, the Father, is the Spirit of truth who testifies of Jesus to us. Help us to believe the Scriptures and the word which You, Jesus, have spoken and to be obedient and learn from the teaching of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, amen.

Blessed

Who remembered us in our low estate,
And has rescued us from our adversaries, Who gives food to all flesh.
Give thanks to the God of heaven,
FOR HIS LOVINGKINDNESS IS EVERLASTING.
Psalms 136:23-26 NASB

🌹Holy, pure, perfect God, thank You for seeing me, hearing me in my afflictions, and rescuing me many times according to Your compassion. Thank You for redeeming me.
I wait for Your provision Lord. You give that which I may gather. You open Your hand and I am satisfied with good.
Yes, I will give the God of heaven thanks for Your lovingkindness is everlasting. Amen.

Only One God for Me

For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many Lords,
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
1 Corinthians 8:5-‬6 NASB

🌹I know and will take it to heart, that You are the Lord – God in heaven above and on the earth below – there is no other. God, You are the God of the Old Testament and the New Testament which both speak of Your eternal nature. You are God and there is no other; You are God and there is no one like You. Sovereign God, the one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. God all things are from You and through You and to You. To You, Lord God, be the glory forever. Amen. 🙌

Liberties

Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and that there is no God but one.
1 Corinthians 8:4‭ NASB

So for the one who knows there is no such thing as idols or gods, that they have no real existence, it is not a big deal to eat the food sacrificed to idols. But what about the brother or sister who has not yet come to terms with eating food sacrificed to idols or hasn’t surrendered their heart completely to the one true God?

It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.
Romans 14:21 NASB

But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. For through your knowledge he who is weak is ruined, the brother for whose sake Christ died. And so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.
1 Corinthians 8:9‭, ‬11‭-‬13 NASB

We have a lot more liberality in our times now but what liberties are we comfortable with in our walk with God that may cause a brother or sister to stumble?

God of mercy and grace, forgive me for my insensitivity to the weaknesses and struggles of my brothers and sisters, that I could be contributing to their sin, by misuse of my knowledge from You. Make me aware and conscientiously seek to build them up in the knowledge of You so they may know the freedom found in You, Lord God. To Your glory and praise I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
