Silence

My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
Psalms 62:1‭-‬2 NASB

Waiting in silence. . .
If you’re anything like me, this is difficult. I very much enjoy talking to the Lord and I can babble on and on and on. . . But how can I hear the still small voice of the Lord if I am not silent, listening.

In the silence I am humbled as I am reminded that my salvation is from God alone. He is my rock, my stronghold and where I find my strength.

I shall not be greatly shaken! In God I will trust.

For our heart rejoices in Him, Because we trust in His holy name.
Psalms 33:21 NASB

Prayer Friends

for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Philippians 1:19 NASB

What a blessing to have others pray for you. The power of prayer to move the very Spirit of God that resides in you to meet your need or desire; and the provision to accomplish God’s plan in and through you.

I know that I am blessed to have others who pray for me regularly and grateful they make themselves available for specific requests.

🌹For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Happy Independence Day,
Citizens of the
United States of America.

By What Power?

Peter and John were arrested for “teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead”. (Acts 4:2)
Standing before the rulers, elders, and scribes in Jerusalem along with Annas, the high priest and John and Alexander, and all who were of priestly descent, they were asked, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?” (Acts 4:5-7)

Then Peter was “filled with the Holy Spirit, and said to them,” (Acts 4:8)
“Let it be known to all of you . . . that in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead — in Him alone is salvation; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:10,12)

🌹Even before, the “Powers that be”, Peter and John were confident to share the gospel, to proclaim Jesus Christ. This boldness to share came through the power of the Holy Spirit that resides in all born again Christians. Are we relying on the Holy Spirit’s power for the boldness to share the gospel?
