Times of Refreshing

I came across a testimony I had written back in October of 2020. It was a sweet reminder of what an awesome God we have.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day, the “old grind”, as some have called it, that we forget to notice God. We look inward at all the things going wrong around us and in us. We begin to become self-focused and then comes the “pity party”.

What are we to do then, face to face with our sin of self-focus? When our dependence and focus is on ourselves, we need to confess before God, ask forgiveness, and also ask God to help stop this pity party. Then, listen, accept the forgiveness and wait.

I have found that when I mess up big time and confess, God blesses.

I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.
Psalms 32:5 NASB

How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!
Psalms 32:2 NASB

🌹Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
Acts 3:19 NASB

Undeserved Grace

He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear (revere) Him.
Psalms 103:10‭-‬11

God, I am humbled when I am faced with your grace. When I consider Your holiness in view of my sin I am ashamed. But God . . . You have not given me the punishment I deserve. Your lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For Your compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Your lovingkindness, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. I give glory to Your name, God, for Your mercy and grace. Amen
Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23/Psalms 36:5/Psalms 36:7 NASB

🌹I will sing of the lovingkindness of the Lord forever; To all generations I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth.
Psalms 89:1 NASB

Road to Triumph Pt. 1

He (Jesus) entered Jericho and was passing through. And there was a man called by the name of Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector and he was rich.
When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly (rejoicing).
Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:1‭-‬2‭, ‬5‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭-‬10 NASB

Was Zaccheus convicted in the presence of the Almighty? He confessed that he would make restitution, and this was according to the law. Jesus sought out Zaccheus, just as He seeks out and saves all who are lost. By the law we are convicted.

because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:20 NASB

By faith we are saved.

🌹For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith.
Romans 4:13‭ NASB

Jesus, Armor of Light

The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.
Isaiah 9:2 NASB

O let us give thanks to You Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. You rescued us from the domain of darkness, in which we formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience and transferred us to the kingdom of Your beloved Son, Jesus! God You know we were formerly darkness, but now we are Light in the Lord Jesus. Guide our feet to shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. Use us to walk as children of Light so as to open the eyes of those walking in darkness that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Christ.’ God, cause the Light of Jesus to shine through us into the darkness so they will see the great Light and find peace. Use us for Your glory, Lord God, in whose name I pray, amen.
Colossians 1:12‭-‬13/Ephesians 2:2/Ephesians 5:8/Luke 1:79/Acts 26:18 NASB

🌹The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

1 John 5:18-19

We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
1 John 5:18‭-‬19 NASB

Jesus, born of God, without sin, pure and holy; praise be unto Your name. You gave Yourself for my sin and rescued me from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. I pray Lord God to live a pure and undefiled religion in Your sight by keeping myself unstained by the world and in Your love, O God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of my Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Father, thank You for Your perfect plan – Jesus, the seed who abides in me and keeps me from the evil one who cannot touch me. The whole world lies in the power of the evil one but we are kept in Jesus, protected from the evil one. Hallelujah to my Almighty God in whom I trust, amen.
Galatians 1:4/James 1:27/Jude 1:21 NASB

🌹No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 5:16-17

If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death; I do not say that he should make request for this. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
1 John 5:16‭-‬17 NASB

Lord God, I offer up a prayer by faith for my brother/sister who is caught up in a sin. I pray You will restore him/her and forgive him/her. Lord, I know intercession on behalf of those who once were enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, blaspheming the Lord, You will not hear my prayer on their behalf. In the case of those who have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. God, I pray for Your extravagant love to be poured out on my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and keep us from falling away into blasphemous sin. Father, God I pray I will not neglect to pray for Your saints. Thank You Father for the offer of salvation through Your Son. Thank You, Jesus for Your sacrificial obedience on the cross and thanks be to the Holy Spirit who convicts and leads to salvation, forgiveness, and guidance to walk into eternity by faith through grace. To You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be honor and glory forever, amen.
James 5:15/Jeremiah 14:11/Jeremiah 7:16/Numbers 15:30/Hebrews 6:4‭-‬6 NASB

🌹For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

1 John 3:7-8

Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:7‭-‬8 NASB

🌹Hallelujah to the Son of God who was tempted by the deceiver, conquered sin, and brought righteousness to those who put their faith in You.
Jesus, You came to destroy the works of the devil. May I not be deceived, having discernment to recognize the one who practices righteousness vs the one who practices sin. Judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out!! The ruler of this world has been judged!!
Jesus, You are the victory!! I know that You are righteous Jesus and I will practice righteousness because I am born of You.
Jesus, thank You for sowing good seed in me.
God I pray You bestow upon me the courage, boldness and perseverance to sow the good seed — Jesus, the Son of Man — in the world, as Your kingdom daughter. Glory, honor and victory to Jesus, my Savior. Amen.

1 John 3:4-6

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
1 John 3:4‭-‬6 NASB

🌹Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus, You are the propitiation for my sin but not mine alone but for those of the whole world. I have been redeemed with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of my Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You, God, for Your law because through it I was made aware of my sin. Sin is lawlessness that brings about wrath. I thank You God for sending Jesus, who knew no sin to be sin on my behalf, that I could become Your righteousness in Jesus. How can I possibly thank You enough for this precious gift bestowed upon me except to practice righteousness in Jesus through Whom I am born again?! I will abide in You and not sin because I am covered in the blood, knowing You and keeping Your commandments and will do good for Your name sake. All praise, honor, and glory to Your name,  in whom I pray.  Amen.
