Wonderful Counselor

And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬c ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/isa.9.6.NASB1995

I wonder. . .
How many people are dependent on the counsel of professional counselors?
How much money is spent on this counseling?
How helpful is the counsel?

This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who has made His counsel wonderful and His wisdom great.
Isaiah‬ ‭28:29‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/isa.28.29.NASB1995

I know a Wonderful Counselor who is available 24/7. By prayer, the word of God, and the indwelling Holy Spirit, many have found great counsel.

I wonder. . .
How is the prayer life of individual believers?
How is the prayer life of the church?
How often are Christians in the word of God – reading, meditating, studying – applying the word to their lives?

God also gave us the church – individuals who are to care for one another, encourage one another, help one another in times of need. The family of God.
‭‭
Should we not seek God first?

‭‭🌹Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!

***In no way am I saying that counseling or seeking counsel is not helpful.

30 Days of Thanks – D4

Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” And call understanding your intimate friend;
Proverbs‬ ‭7:4‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/pro.7.4.NASB1995

I know this is out of context, but this verse brought to mind some wonderful women in my life who share their godly wisdom with me and have listening, understanding 💕 hearts. Sisters who pray for and with me.

I thank God for these sisters who have blessed my life.

Continually Seeking Him,

30 Days of Thanks – D3

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Colossians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/col.3.16.NASB1995

‭‭God’s word. God’s word filled with the richness of wisdom, direction, salvation. God’s word showing us the Way, the Truth and the Life. The richness of knowing, experiencing Jesus Christ.

Thank You God for Your Word!!

🌹So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Who am I?

Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”
Acts‬ ‭11:17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/act.11.17.NASB1995

‭‭This passage is where Peter went to Jerusalem and was sharing testimony with the circumcised Jewish believers about the conversion of Gentiles, of their salvation. When he received opposition his response was, “who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”

I believe we have all been there. That is not the way we do things. That is not how Christians are supposed to act, talk, serve, etc. God and His word is always, or should be, the final word.

There is no wisdom and no understanding And no counsel against the Lord.
Proverbs‬ ‭21:30‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/pro.21.30.NASB1995

Not one person on the face of this earth is perfect or knows it all. We would be foolish to think this. We must be careful that we do not think or act as if we alone have any authority.
‭‭
Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches;
Jeremiah‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/jer.9.23.NASB1995

We must seek the counsel of God. Through His Word. Through prayer. Alone and corporately.
‭‭
Then we must trust God and Him alone.

but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God.”
Acts‬ ‭5:39‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

🌹Who am I? I do not want to be in that position. Do you?

We Pray

Why do we pray?

We pray for others that they maybe filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
Colossians 1:9 NASB
We pray to be transformed through God’s righteous judgment so that we will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God.
2 Thessalonians 1:5 NASB
And we pray that Jesus will be glorified in and through us according to the grace given us through Jesus.
2 Thessalonians 1:12 NASB

We pray so God will be forefront in our mind, heart, soul, and walk. We pray so we can see His will be done.

🌹To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:11‭-‬12 NASB

Wise or Unwise?

So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17 NASB

The unwise do not know the will of God.
They are foolish.
Where do we find the will of God?
In the Word of God.
Those who learn it will walk in wisdom.

Opening and reading the Bible daily will open the door to adventure that compares to no other. The wise will seek the Word, know the Word, and follow the Word so they can do the will of God.

🌹Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:10 NASB

Continually Seeking Him,

Will of God

So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17 NASB

For this is the will of God, your sanctification;
1 Thessalonians 4:3a NASB

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2 NASB

🌹God, I pray for every person reading this devotion, that they may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that they will walk in a manner worthy of You, Lord. I  pray their desire will be to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You, God. In Your holy name I pray, amen.
Colossians 1:9‭-‬10 NASB

Holy Spirit Power

and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:4‭-‬5 NASB

When speaking to others about God, we don’t need to rely on “churchy words”, make ourselves sound righteous, or use persuasive words. We simply need to rely upon the power of the Holy Spirit in us and His work in them. God will move a person to faith in Him by His power, not by our wisdom.

🌹For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:20 NASB

My Treasure

Treasure: greatly valued

In the fear (reverence) of the Lord there is strong confidence, And his (His) children will have refuge. The fear (reverence) of the Lord is a fountain of life, That one may avoid the snares of death.
Proverbs 14:26‭-‬27 NASB

And He will be the stability of your times, A wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; The fear of the Lord is his treasure.
Isaiah 33:6 NASB

The fear of the Lord leads to life, So that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.
Proverbs 19:23 NASB

What a wonderful gift we have in Jesus, a treasure to those who believe.
To the believer, Jesus is strong confidence, a refuge, the fountain of life, salvation, wisdom, knowledge. Understanding this, one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.

Do you believe?

🌹Thank You, Jesus, for opening my eyes to the true treasure of knowing You. I praise Your holy name. Amen.

Continually Seeking Him,

Sharon

Good and Blessed

He who gives attention to the word will find good, And blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
Proverbs 16:20 NASB

One thing I ask of the Lord before opening His word, the sword of the Spirit, is for wisdom and understanding. I do this so, as I feast on God’s Word, I am able to taste and see that the Lord is good, attaining wisdom for the love of my soul and that through understanding I can do good. The Word is for life. Food, guidance, peace, contentment, understanding of the ways of life. Let me encourage you to be in the Word of God daily. For your good and God’s glory.
Ephesians 6:17b/Jeremiah 17:7/Psalms 34:8/Proverbs 19:8 NASB

🌹How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalms 119:103 NASB

Continually Seeking Him,
