Will of God

So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17 NASB

For this is the will of God, your sanctification;
1 Thessalonians 4:3a NASB

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2 NASB

🌹God, I pray for every person reading this devotion, that they may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that they will walk in a manner worthy of You, Lord. I  pray their desire will be to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You, God. In Your holy name I pray, amen.

What a Way to Start a Day

In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.
Psalms 5:3 NASB

What a great way to start a day! Pray with anticipation of what God will fill and bless your day with.

And then . . .

I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:5 NASB

🌹 Have a blessed day in the Lord filled with hope and anticipation.

Prayer Friends

for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Philippians 1:19 NASB

What a blessing to have others pray for you. The power of prayer to move the very Spirit of God that resides in you to meet your need or desire; and the provision to accomplish God’s plan in and through you.

I know that I am blessed to have others who pray for me regularly and grateful they make themselves available for specific requests.

🌹For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Colossians 1:9‭-‬10 NASB

Free Indeed

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 NASB

and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
John 8:32 NASB1995

🌹So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
John 8:36 NASB

There is nothing better. Keep seeking the true freedom found only in Jesus Christ.

Happy Independence Day,
Citizens of the
United States of America.

By What Power?

Peter and John were arrested for “teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead”. (Acts 4:2)
Standing before the rulers, elders, and scribes in Jerusalem along with Annas, the high priest and John and Alexander, and all who were of priestly descent, they were asked, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?” (Acts 4:5-7)

Then Peter was “filled with the Holy Spirit, and said to them,” (Acts 4:8)
“Let it be known to all of you . . . that in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead — in Him alone is salvation; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:10,12)

🌹Even before, the “Powers that be”, Peter and John were confident to share the gospel, to proclaim Jesus Christ. This boldness to share came through the power of the Holy Spirit that resides in all born again Christians. Are we relying on the Holy Spirit’s power for the boldness to share the gospel?

Your Best Interest

For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever (dwells in eternity), whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.
Isaiah 57:15 NASB

Can you even fathom that the God of the universe,
– who is purely Holy (Isaiah 57:15)and
– who is eternal (Isaiah 57:15)
– who dwells on high on a throne in holy heaven with the earth as His footstool (Isaiah 66:1a)
– who made heaven and earth and all things that have come into being (Isaiah 66:2a)
Would care enough to dwell also with a contrite and lowly spirit such as you and me?

The Lord declares, “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Isaiah 66:2 NASB

Why?
Because.  .  .

– The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
– God will not despise a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17)
– so He can revive the heart of the broken hearted

🌹To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:3 NASB

God is True

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son. The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
1 John 5:9‭-‬12 NASB

In Him (Jesus), you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:13 NASB

who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge (down payment).
2 Corinthians 1:22 NASB

🌹He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.
John 3:33 NASB

Can you truthfully say, “God is true”?

Paying Attention?

The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention. Therefore the Lord brought the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria against them, and they captured Manasseh with hooks, bound him with bronze chains and took him to Babylon. When he was in distress, he entreated the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. When he prayed to Him, He was moved by his entreaty and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.
2 Chronicles 33:10‭-‬13 NASB

I once was told that history repeats itself. I believe it does. The part I truly hope will repeat itself in this day and age is the earnest, humble praying of the church that will move the heart of God to show mercy to our city, our nation, our world. Pray asking that our city, nation and world will know that the Lord is God!!!

Great is The Lord!

For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, . . . ,says the Lord of hosts.
Malachi 1:11a NASB

That men (they) may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other,
Isaiah 45:6 NASB

God has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained (commanded) His covenant forever; Holy and awesome (inspiring reverence) is His name.
Psalms 111:9 NASB

“For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory.
Isaiah 66:18 NASB

🌹God is Lord and there is no other. He has sent redemption and ordained His covenant forever. Have you received His redemption? Will you be one among those who will see God’s glory and bow in awesome reverence, praising His Holy name and grateful for His redemption?

I hope so.

The Lord sat as King at the flood; Yes, the Lord sits as King forever. The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Psalms 29:10‭-‬11 NASB

The Lord is King forever and ever;
Psalms 10:16‭a
O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear
Psalms 10:17 NASB

The Lord is King. Are you fighting submission to His will? His way? His love? His provision? You’re fighting a losing battle. He is ultimate ruler over all. The Victor!!
Humbly surrender that the King of kings and the Lord of lords will hear your call to repentance. He will strengthen your heart and bless you with peace in this world and beyond. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
