Obedience is Greater

Mar25

One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He (Jesus) had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?”
Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord;

and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

The scribe said to Him, “Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that He is One, and there is no one else besides Him; and to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as himself, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Mark 12:28-33 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mrk.12.28-34.NASB1995

Obedience to God’s commandments is greater than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.

🌹. . . “Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

The Eyes of the Lord

Feb27

I waited patiently (intently) for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
Psalms 40:1-2 NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.40.1.NASB1995

‭‭The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry.
Psalms 34:15 NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.34.15.NASB1995

What a magnificent God we have!! He gives us eternal life AND walks with us from day one. He hears our cries and steps in to help us as we intently, earnestly seek Him and His ways. God’s eyes are toward the righteous with His ears open to their cry.

O, Lord, help me to stand firm upon the rock while You
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.
Psalms 25:5 NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.25.5.NASB1995

Let us walk in such a way that others see Christ in us and desire to know Him too.

🌹He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord.

The Mighty One, God, the Lord!

Nov4

The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth.
Psalms 50:1-2 NASB

GOD. THE Supreme Being. Eternal. Superior. Creator and Ruler of all. Infinite in all attributes. Worthy of my worship!
THE MIGHTY ONE. Superior Strength. I will seek His face and strength.
THE LORD. Has authority, control, power over all. I surrender to my Lord as my Master, my Chief, my Ruler.

I could stop right here as this says so much, leaving my jaw dropped to the ground in awe. No one can compare to Almighty Lord God. But then God spoke. . .

Creator. Summoned the earth by His authority placing it right where He planted it. Complete control is His from the rising of the sun to its setting. Should we not praise the name of the Lord from the rising of the sun to its setting?
Psalms 113:3 NASB

And!!! Through Christ, the perfection of beauty is shown through His death and resurrection awaiting we who know the Mighty One, God, the Lord.

🌹The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!
Psalms 99:1 NASB

Proclaim the Light

May2

Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it,
“I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness, I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you, And I will appoint you as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the nations,
To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.
Isaiah 42:5‭-‬7 NASB

Jesus, Light of the world, I will arise and shine for Your light has come and Your glory has risen before me. In Your hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind yet Your Light shone in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it. You are the Lord God, who upholds my right hand, Who says to me, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’
I pray for Your chosen people, a royal priesthood, a people for Your own possession, that we will be bold in proclaiming the excellencies of You who called us out of darkness into Your marvelous Light. Spirit of God who made me, breath of the Almighty who gives me life; Spirit of the Lord God be upon me, anoint me to bring good news to the afflicted; to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners by Your Almighty power. In Your name and for Your glory Lord God, amen.
Isaiah 60:1/Job 12:10/Isaiah 41:13/

John 1:5/1 Peter 2:9/Job 33:4/Isaiah 61:1 NASB

🌹Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. They will say of Me, ‘Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength.’ Men will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame. In the Lord all the offspring of Israel Will be justified and will glory.”
Isaiah 45:22‭-‬25 NASB
