Reconnecting Day 5

As I was praying this morning, this verse came to me:
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
Psalms 19:14 NASB

My desire is to live, or at least try my best to live up to the standard of my Lord and be pleasing in His sight. Filling my heart with the word of God daily so I can meditate on it all day. The word that will control my thoughts and the words of my mouth all to the glory of God!

Other verses I referenced:

Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.
Psalms 104:34 NASB

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Psalms 9:1‭-‬2 NASB

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.
Psalms 71:23 NASB

Enduring Word

“In the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord , saying, “Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day. Perhaps the house of Judah will hear all the calamity which I plan to bring on them, in order that every man will turn from his evil way; then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.” Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a scroll at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord which He had spoken to him.” Jeremiah 36:1‭-‬4 NASB

God spoke. His word is written. God’s Word was read to the people and finally made its way to the king.

“Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with a fire burning in the brazier before him. When Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with a scribe’s knife and threw it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.”
Jeremiah 36:22‭-‬23 NASB

The Word of God burned in the fire even way back then and yet His Word is still alive today.

“Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the son of Neriah, the scribe, and he wrote on it at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.” Jeremiah 36:32 NASB

Plant God’s word in your mind and heart and His word will endure in you. Reading, meditating on, memorizing. The Holy Spirit knows the word and will bring it to mind when needed as you walk and abide in the Lord.

Plant it so deep that you would be like Jeremiah. Not being able to hold back from proclaiming God’s word.

“But if I say, “I will not remember Him Or speak anymore in His name,” Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; And I am weary of holding it in, And I cannot endure it.”
Jeremiah 20:9 NASB

Words Of My Mouth

Who gave Jacob up for spoil, and Israel to plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, And in whose ways they were not willing to walk, And whose law they did not obey? So He poured out on him the heat of His anger And the fierceness of battle; And it set him aflame all around, Yet he did not recognize it; And it burned him, but he paid no attention.
Isaiah 42:24‭-‬25 NASB

Because lawlessness is increased,  most people’s love will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

God does not take lawlessness lightly. He has called His saints to be holy. He has called His saints to be upright, obeying the law. He has called us to be light to the darkness of the world. He has called us to freedom in Him.

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  Galatians 5:13

My heart is so heavily burdened with the response of “God’s people” to the events happening in the world today. We are so self focused, worried about ourselves and the injustices we see all around us. Making known our own opinions about what is right in our own eyes. Taking our freedom of speech so far as to bring dishonor to God’s name.

I believe God is using the events of today to call His people back to Him. To repent of our sin, the greatest of which is:

But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4

🌹Repent. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words to bring life to the unsaved and glory to God.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Founded Upon The Seas

For He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Psalm 24:2

This didn’t make much sense to me as I began to memorize this verse. I understand that “it” is the earth that belongs to the Lord. So the earth was founded upon the seas? Hmm. Better meditate on this a bit. . . . .

So as I am reciting this verse it comes to me that this is in Genesis.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Makes sense why the Psalmist said the earth was the Lord’s.)

The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so. (Hmm. Catch that? There was water over the surface. There was water everywhere.)

Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good. (Land, earth, was founded, established, upon the seas. The land appeared as the water gathered together.)

My conclusion on memory and meditation of Psalm 24:2? God founded and established this earth on which we live. He is Creator. It belongs to Him. We belong to Him. He has ultimate rule. He is King. Realizing He is Supreme, I humble myself before Him, surrendering my life — the one He gave me — for His purpose and His glory.

How about you? Jesus is waiting.

Draw Near To God

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works. — Psalm 73:28

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Being near to God is nothing but good for anyone. He is all we need in heaven and on earth.

Draw near to God for He is our refuge, our shelter. We find peace in His presence as He protects us from the world, giving us security that we can depend upon. He is faithful. We sit in in the sanctuary of His presence when we draw near to God.

When spending time with Jesus in prayer, meditation and study of His Word, our eyes are opened to the wonders of God. We are overwhelmed and overflowing with testimony of His goodness that we must tell the world what He has done, the wonderful things He does.

The real key to proclaiming the good news is knowing the One who is the good news. Draw near to our God so you can proclaim His goodness, salvation, love and the hope He has for everyone.
