Glorious Joyful Praise

🙌 Shout joyfully to God, all the earth;
Sing the glory of His name; Make His praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will give feigned obedience to You.
All the earth will worship You, And will sing praises to You; They will sing praises to Your name.” Selah.

What’s Your Motive?

. . . You do not have because you do not ask.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives (wickedly), so that you may spend it on (in) your pleasures.
James 4:2c-3 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.2-3.NASB1995

We sometimes, often, ask for treasures, earthly treasures, that reveal where our heart is. Let us remember that what we  treasure most is where our hearts abide. (Matthew 6:21) God blesses the gifts He gives.

He blesses our obedience.

and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.

Doers of The Word

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
James 1:22 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.22.NASB1995

Jesus speaking:
“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”
Luke 6:46-49 NASB1995

This life we live is not easy. It is far from perfect. But God. His Word is truth to live by. His word of truth protects, guides, strengthens, encourages, and opens our eyes to Him. Our Protector, Provider, Guide, Friend, Support, Love, and the list goes on . . . gave us His word to know Him and live out His Word in our lives. As in any relationship, time spent getting to know one another is essential. Without God’s word in our heart, on our mind, and living out the word of God we will not be justified.

🌹 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.

Obedience is Greater

One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He (Jesus) had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?”
Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord;

and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

The scribe said to Him, “Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that He is One, and there is no one else besides Him; and to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as himself, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Mark 12:28-33 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mrk.12.28-34.NASB1995

Obedience to God’s commandments is greater than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.

🌹. . . “Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

Jesus Came to Call

For what purpose did Jesus come to earth in bodily form? Why would He leave His throne on high to become a carpenter’s son? Why would He allow His death?

Because of you!!!

Christ Jesus . . . although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:6-8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/php.2.5-8.NASB1995

Jesus came in obedience to God the Father for a purpose.

Is Jesus our example? Are we to be obedient to God by following in the footsteps of Jesus?

I find these words of Jesus very convicting:

I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:32 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.5.32.NASB1995

Do you?

🌹Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

Boast in The Lord!

For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:20 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1co.4.20.NASB1995

It is not by my words but by God’s power in me that the gospel and His kingdom grows and flourishes.

For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Romans 15:18-19 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.15.18-19.NASB1995

🌹But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Fulfill God’s Purpose for You

Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”
Matthew 26:53-54 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.26.53-54.NASB1995

God’s plan, just like Jesus, may include our own persecution to the death. Everyday, everything, in our day has already been sifted through the hands of God. I often ask myself, “Why are you complaining, worrying, upset? Give it to God and press on.”

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/php.3.14.NASB1995

Pressing on we are trusting God to complete His plan in us and through us.

Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
Hebrews 6:1 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.6.1.NASB1995

🌹So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”

Obedient Amazement

When He (Jesus) had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.” Luke‬ ‭5:4‭-‬5‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.5.4.NASB1995‭‭

We can sure get stuck in our ways and think we know best, especially at things we do all the time. But when God steps in we need to listen and obey. Obedience to God’s direction and walking in His will and way brings blessings for ourself that overflows to others.

When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break; so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats so that they began to sink. Luke‬ ‭5:6‭-‬7‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.5.6.NASB1995‭‭

God will also reveal His glory to us if we watch in anticipation.

For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken; Luke‬ ‭5:9‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

🌹And God’s glory is seen with amazement!!! 🙌

Confident Assurance

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Matthew‬ ‭7:21‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.7.21.NASB1995

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.7.23.NASB1995

How content are you that if you died tonight you would be ushered into the presence of God and live with Him eternally?

Are you hanging your assurance on that walk down the aisle? Or on a prayer recited? Or are you clinging to Jesus, your Savior; following in His footsteps, being obedient to the Word of God and doing His will?

Only you and God can answer that question. I pray you are confident of your salvation. Seek God. Read His word. Pray.

🌹Make sure you know that you know that you know that you know!

Called-Out

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Hebrews 11:8 NASB

Abraham was called by God. He knew God had a plan for him so he followed God, not knowing where he was going. He followed in obedience by faith.

Do you profess to be a Christian? Are you willing to follow God in obedient faith, totally trusting in Him and His call on your life? You are not your own.

🌹But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
