My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalms 62:1-2, 5-8 NASB
Do you know God as your rock? Your stronghold? Your hope? Your strength? Your refuge? Your trust?
Troubles? Burdens? Feel lost?
🌹Wait in silence for God only. Pour out your heart before Him; God is our refuge.
Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me! I would redeem them, but they speak lies against Me. Hosea 7:13 NASB
Thus says the Lord to this people, “Even so they have loved to wander; they have not kept their feet in check. Therefore the Lord does not accept them; now He will remember their iniquity and call their sins to account.” Jeremiah 14:10 NASB
God’s people. Rebelling. Turning away from His way. Seeking our own way. God’s grace doesn’t mean we can live our lives opposite, contrary to His way. God wants a repentant and seeking heart. Look around you. Are we living in the wake of our rebellion?
You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, You have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors, Hosea 10:13 NASB
🌹Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 NASB
“Go and say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Are you the one who should build Me a house to dwell in? For I have not dwelt in a house since the day I brought up the sons of Israel from Egypt, even to this day; but I have been moving about in a tent, even in a tabernacle. Wherever I have gone with all the sons of Israel, did I speak a word with one of the tribes of Israel, which I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ ” ’ 2 Samuel 7:5-7 NASB
God was with Israel as they traveled (sojourned) across the wilderness and beyond as they entered into the promised land. God moved in a tent, the tabernacle.
Today God is with us in His Holy Spirit residing in us, His people, as we travel this wilderness on the way to the promised land.
Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 2 Corinthians 6:16 NASB
Is the Holy Spirit living in you? If yes, then is He moving freely to accomplish His will in you or are you trying to contain God in “a house made of cedar”?
O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like a luxuriant cypress; From Me comes your fruit. Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But transgressors will stumble in them. Hosea 14:8-9 NASB
🌹🙏 The works of Your hands are truth and justice; All Your precepts are sure. They are upheld forever and ever; They are performed in truth and uprightness. The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level. Psalms 111:7-8 NASB/Isaiah 26:7 NASB
He (King Hezekiah) trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before him. For he clung to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses. 2 Kings 18:5-6 NASB
What can be said of you? Are you faithful? Trusting in the Lord God? Clinging to the Lord? Following Jesus closely? Keeping the commandments of God which He commanded?
🌹Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7 NASB
and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit. For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. Colossians 1:8-12 NASB
🌹Salvation doesn’t stop at conversion. Salvation is the beginning of an eternal journey with Jesus or Savior. Increasing in the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Walking in a manner worthy of our Lord. Pleasing our God. Bearing fruit in good works. Increasing in the knowledge of God. Abiding in His power to strengthen us for steadfastness and patience. Joyously praising our Father who has qualified us through the blood of Jesus for an eternal inheritance!!
He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 10:21 NASB
Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:20 NASB
