The Lord Be Magnified

Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!” Psalms 40:16 NASB

What is your “rejoice” manometer reading these days?

Pressure of everyday life can be overwhelming. Then thrown in there is disappointment, fear of the outcome of situations, uncertainties all around us because nothing is “normal” these days.

Where do you turn? What is it that you are seeking? In an uncertain world, there is only One who can give you peace from the pressures of life. Seek the Lord. Let Him be your joy and gladness. Seek and you will find.

In Christ alone is salvation. Are you assured of your salvation in Him? Are you grateful for it? If you love your salvation, make it known. Continually seek to magnify Him in words and actions for others to see and your heart will rejoice in God.

🌹Those who seek God can’t help but rejoice in Him and magnify Him to the world.

If you are questioning your salvation, seek out a strong Christian who can guide, mentor, and pray with you and for you.

God Is My Salvation

“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

Salvation: trust with no fear. Are you there?

Is He your strength and song? Is He the first one you run to when times get rough or when decisions need to be made; seeking His strength? Is He the continual song of your heart? Has He become your salvation?

🌹Today is the day to truly believe with conviction and say:
God IS my salvation. I WILL trust and not be afraid.

(Seek a close Christian friend for prayer, guidance, if you need assurance regarding your salvation).

Focus of Worship

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live.” And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.
Numbers 21:8‭-‬9 NASB

Our God is good. He will discipline but with every act of discipline He provides a solution. It requires an action on our part.

It was sin that brought about the serpents. It was the bronze serpent, looking at it, that brought about salvation from immediate death.

The serpent then became an idol. “It is the serpent who saved” instead of “God is our salvation”.

He removed the high places and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the Asherah. He also broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the sons of Israel burned incense to it; and it was called Nehushtan.
2 Kings 18:4 NASB

King Hezekiah broke in pieces the bronze serpent because it had become the focus of worship. It had become their “salvation”.

It is Jesus upon the cross that is our salvation from sin and death, not just the cross. Looking to the cross cannot be replaced with Jesus and a personal relationship with Him.

The cross is significant but the One who hung on the cross is the One to be worshiped.

🌹 What is your salvation based upon? Who or what do you look to, trust, for security, peace, your salvation?

New Year 2017

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. – Genesis 3:7

The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. – Genesis 3:21

Adam and Eve at the realization of their nakedness, due to sin (disobedience to God), clothed themselves in fig leaves. The leaves would not have lasted long, since removing them from the vine would cause them to wilt, turn brown and deteriorate. The uselessness of our trying to cover up our sin.

But God . . . clothed Adam and Eve in animal skins. (God’s ways are always better). I thank Dr. Steve Thompson for pointing out last Wednesday night, that God sacrificed the first animal. The skins that Adam and Eve were clothed in came from an animal sacrificed because of sin. God sacrificed an animal in the Garden and also sacrificed His Son for the sins of all mankind.

From beginning to end God demonstrates his love for his creation — man and woman.

How about making 2017 the year you turn from sin to God? He made the provision through His Son, Jesus Christ. Today! Pray – asking forgiveness for your sin and your need for a Savior. Believe – Jesus died for you, was buried and arose from the dead three days later. Confess – Jesus as Lord! Live – as if He is your Lord.

May God bless your 2017 as you live for Him.

Psalm 146

Hallelujah!
My soul, praise the Lord.
I will praise the Lord all my life;
I will sing to my God as long as I live.

Do not trust in nobles,
in man, who cannot save.
When his breath leaves him,
he returns to the ground;
on that day his plans die.

Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lordhis God,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea and everything in them.
He remains faithful forever,
executing justice for the exploited
and giving food to the hungry.
The Lord frees prisoners.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord raises up those who are oppressed.
The Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord protects foreigners
and helps the fatherless and the widow,
but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord reigns forever;
Zion, your God reigns for all generations.
Hallelujah! — Psalm 146

So You’re A Christian?

This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn’t keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked. — 1 John 2:3-6 (HCSB)

There are many who call themselves Christians. . . Do you call yourself a Christian? You can know for sure. The standard is right here in these verses.

Do you keep His commandments? (Obey)
Do you walk just as Jesus walked? (Humbly, sacrificially, obediently)
Don’t know His commandments or how He walked? Check out the Bible. It will tell you.

So. Are you truly a Christian?

I Am God

“I, even I, am the Lord, And there is no savior besides Me. “It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, And there was no strange god among you; So you are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “And I am God. — Isaiah 43:11-12

As Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord. Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way,  bringing us out of Egypt? Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the         Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” — Exodus 14:10-12

Often times we can’t see past our circumstances to see that God has our future covered. We want to run back to the familiar even though God has a better life planned for us. We have a choice (again with the choices) — trust God with your life or stay in bondage, slavery where you are.

Jesus offers a way out. He offers freedom right where you are. Are you ready to be free from the bondage of sin and the overwhelming circumstances you’re in? Come to Him. He is waiting.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. — John 8:31-36

Do You Believe?

King Agrippa, do you believe the Prophets? I know that you do.” Agrippa replied to Paul, “In a short time you will persuade me to   become a  Christian.” And Paul said, “I would wish to God, that whether in a short or long time, not only you, but also all who hear me this day, might become such as I am, except for these chains.” — Acts 26:27-29

Are you a Christian? One who believes that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross washing away your sin, was buried, and 3 days later rose from the dead? Do you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus? Will you confess Him to others?

Are you one who doesn’t yet believe? Are you desiring the freedom from shame and guilt? Believe now, confessing your sin before God and your need of Him in your life. Trust Jesus with your life and confess Him as your Lord. Today is the day to choose life. Eternal life. Won’t you come? Come to Jesus?
