Follow Me

And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” — Mark 1:17; Matthew 4:19

But Jesus *said to him, “Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead.” — Matthew 8:22

As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector’s booth; and He *said to him, “Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him. — Matthew 9:9; Mark 2:14; Luke 5:27

And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. — Luke 9:23; Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34

Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” Mark 10:21; Luke 18:22; Matthew 19:21

And He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.” But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.” Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” — Luke 9:59-62

The next day He purposed to go into Galilee, and He *found Philip. And Jesus *said to him, “Follow Me.” — John 1:43

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. — John 12:26

That’s Not All Folks

In the beginning God . . . — Genesis 1:1a

You know, truthfully, the Bible could have stopped right there. He is God from the beginning of creation. He is THE Creator of us and all things. He deserves our respect, honor and love. But that’s not all folks. . .

He gave us pages and pages of treasures to explore from Genesis to Revelation. Open the pages of your Bible and hear the voice of the Lord God sharing Jesus and His abounding love for us.

Bless the Lord

I hope you had the time to meditate on God’s mercy yesterday and what it means to you. Hopefully your meditation turned to praise for His mercies.

Praise for the Lord’s Mercies.

A Psalm of Da vid.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. — Psalm 103:1-5

Let me encourage you to continue reading the entire 103rd Psalm in praise to our Lord.

Rich in Mercy

But God, being rich in mercy, . . . — Ephesians 2:4a

Gnaw on that for awhile. What does it mean for us? How does it speak to you?

Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name.

Dry Bones

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord.’” — Ezekiel 37:1-6

Have you been there? The dry bone state? It’s as if there is no life left in you. No purpose, no hope, no future plans. I admire the prophets faith when he answered God’s question, “can these bones live?” He simply stated, “O Lord God, You know.”

‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Let the Word of God revive you. Let His breathe of life give you new life, new focus, new hope. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Just like these dry bones you can be revived and enjoy new life in Christ Jesus. Continue to seek Him so you may know Him. He is the Lord.

Salvation, Healing, Deliverance, Joy

Fools, because of their rebellious way,
And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.
Their soul abhorred all kinds of food,
And they drew near to the gates of death.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble;
He saved them out of their distresses.
He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!
Let them also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And tell of His works with joyful singing. — Psalm 107:17-22

Narrow Door

“Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. — Luke 13:24

Many believe they are Christians and yet do not know the Lord God at all. Christianity doesn’t just come naturally. It is something we need to seek, strive for. Ask God to give you a yearning for His word, a thirst for Him — to know Him more intimately everyday. The road is narrow and so is the door. Seek while He can be found before the door is forever closed because we are not ready when the Bridegroom returns.

Continually seeking Him,

Sharon

Please read the rest of Luke 13. Be ready and know Him intimately. It is worth the striving.

Light

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. — Genesis 1:1-3

Since the beginning of time, God has been shedding light on the world.
Genesis starts dark and void but God said, “Let there be light”.
The New Testament starts with God sending a Light into the world.
The world was dark and in need of the Light, so God sent Him.
We are made in the image of the Light and thus we are the light of the world.
So,

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. — Matthew 5:16

so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, — Philippians 2:15

Psalm 84

Psalm Chapter 84 is a marvelous piece of scripture. It has so much hope, insight, peace, comfort, etc. If you haven’t tasted of it before I encourage you to spend some time there at your leisure. This chapter closes with:

O Lord of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You! — Psalm 84:12

Have you been there? Are you there? That is where I am camping this week. Resting in the blessedness of trusting in my Lord. What a great place to be. No matter what the circumstances, no matter what the outcome, I will trust in the Lord. Try it. You will be blessed. Bible says so.

My Song

“The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will extol Him. — Exodus 15:2

I sing because He is my song. I endure because He is my strength. I praise Him because He is God. He is my everything, my all. Without Him I am nothing and can do nothing. Because of this, He is my salvation. Rejoice today because He is who He says He is: “I AM“.
