Abundant Mercy

“Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters;
Isaiah 55:1a NASB

“Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David.
Isaiah 55:3 NASB

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6‭-‬7 NASB

God of abundance. Abundant mercy to still be reaching down, calling our hearts back to Him. Abundant mercy He desires to pour out on His children.

Now is the time to seek the Lord, while He may be found. Today may be the day when time runs out for you. Don’t delay. Come experience God’s abundant love, grace and mercy.

🌹 Praise God for His abundant mercy. Who do you know that needs to hear?

No Other

The Lord has made known His salvation;
He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. Psalm 98:2

Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” Acts 17:30‭-‬31 NASB

“Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2b NASB

“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. Isaiah 45:22 NASB

🌹 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:8 NASB

Your Treasure

Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. O people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. Isaiah 30:18‭-‬19 NASB

The heart of God. He longs to be gracious to you. He waits for you to cry out to Him so He may pour out His compassion on you.

Cry out to God that He may pour out His grace upon you. He will hear and answer you in the midst of your life. He is . . .

And He will be the stability of your times, A wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; The fear of the Lord is his treasure.           Isaiah 33:6 NASB

🌹 The fear of the Lord is your treasure.

Pardoned

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6‭-‬7 NASB

God is calling His church to return to Him. Are you truly repentant? Are you seeking the Lord daily? Hourly? Minute by minute?

He sought you. His compassion offers freedom when we walk with Him, forsaking the way of mankind.

You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.
1 Corinthians 7:23 NASB

“I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.
Isaiah 43:25 NASB

🌹 Have you received His pardon? Are you walking in freedom with Jesus?

Light

“No longer will you have the sun for light by day, Nor for brightness will the moon give you light; But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, And your God for your glory. Isaiah 60:19 NASB

As a kid do you remember chasing your shadow or trying to run from it? Or watching your children at play chasing or running from their shadow?

We watch daily the sun moving and setting to bring darkness upon the earth with just the moon for light at night.

But one day, as children of God, we will experience a day when all darkness will vanish because all we have is the light of our God forever in eternity.

This verse is still pertinent in the here and now in the light of salvation. Jesus is the light of the world. Today. Now. We have no need to chase our shadows, or fear the darkness that seems to envelope us when in the mighty presence of the Lord all darkness and shadows disappear.

Turn to the Light and let Jesus conquer the shadows and deep darkness within you. Let His light shine so bright that it dispels the shadows of those around you.

🌹 Be a light to the world.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1:17 NASB

The Mark

“This one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s ‘; And that one will call on the name of Jacob; And another will write on his hand, ‘Belonging to the Lord ,’ And will name Israel’s name with honor.
Isaiah 44:5 NASB

Who is your Lord? Who do you belong to? Do you bear the brand-marks of Jesus?

“From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the brand-marks of Jesus.” Galatians 6:17 NASB

Jesus bore the marks for you. Until we are ready to bear His mark can we truly say that we are His? Are we willing to follow in obedience into whatever situation, circumstance God calls us to? Are we willing to take His brand-marks? To go that far for His namesake?

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;”
Philippians 3:10 NASB

Jesus came to save the lost, to reconcile mankind to the Father. Is that not what bearing the brand-marks of Christ is? Willing at all cost to reconcile mankind to God?

Can we say that we are:

“always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”?
2 Corinthians 4:10 NASB

🌹Are you willing to wear the brand-mark of Christ “in order that I” (others) “may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”?
Philippians 3:11 NASB

Everlasting Rock

Who is among you that fears the Lord, That obeys the voice of His servant, That walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. Isaiah 50:10 NASB

The darkness of the world is all around us. People are living in fear and uncertainty. This environment can cause the one who fears the Lord, that obeys Jesus, is a child of God, to walk in darkness and fear just as the world fears. What is the answer?

“trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.”

Long for the presence of the Lord. Seek Him diligently. Learn God’s righteousness. Experience His sovereignty.

At night my soul longs for You,
Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently;
For when the earth experiences Your judgments
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. Isaiah 26:9

God is at work. Let Him fulfill His will.

I will go away and return to My place
Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. Hosea 5:15

Prayer:

“God, You are my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For You, Lord God, are my strength and song, And You have become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

🌹Trust in the Lord forever, For in God the  Lord, we have an everlasting Rock. Isaiah 26:4

Who Rules You?

We have become like those over whom You have never ruled, Like those who were not called by Your name. Isaiah 63:19 NASB

What is different about those called by God than those who are ruled by their own ideals, passions, opinions, morals, assumptions, etc.? Do we resemble them or do we resemble the One to whom we have been called to resemble?

🌹 Who rules your life?

“But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Isaiah 66:2b NASB

Jesus Our Disciple

Jesus. Our example. Our model of the Christian walk. Jesus, in the Old Testament, displaying the faithful disciple.

Isaiah 50:4a
The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples,

— “All your sons will be taught of the Lord;
Isaiah 54:13a NASB

We are taught through the word of God and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the perfect example of a disciple. He is the Lord and He teaches us to be disciples.

Isaiah 50:4b
That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.

For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good. Psalms 107:9 NASB

— “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Matthew 5:6 NASB

— “but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:14 NASB

Jesus draws the heart to Himself. God is at work preparing hearts for Himself. Jesus sustains the weary one with His word.

Are you seeing the weary ones, the hungry souls, the thirsty ones around you? Ask God to open your eyes to those who are seeking and then as a disciple lean on the Holy Spirit’s guidance to lead them to the well of water.

Do you want to be like Jesus? Do you want to walk in His footsteps? Then you need to prepare.

Isaiah 50:4c He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.

In the morning, O Lord , You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. Psalms 5:3 NASB

Give God your best. Your freshest time of the day to devote to Him in preparation to be the disciple Jesus demonstrated.

Eagerly watch for God’s work in the lives of the lost calling them to salvation. Eagerly watch for brothers and sisters who are in need of repentance, to become thirsty and hungry for righteousness once again.

Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. Psalms 143:8 NASB

🌹Are you ready to surrender? To trust God to make you the disciple He wants you to be? Who does He want you to pour yourself into? Start praying for them now.

Words Of My Mouth

Who gave Jacob up for spoil, and Israel to plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, And in whose ways they were not willing to walk, And whose law they did not obey? So He poured out on him the heat of His anger And the fierceness of battle; And it set him aflame all around, Yet he did not recognize it; And it burned him, but he paid no attention.
Isaiah 42:24‭-‬25 NASB

Because lawlessness is increased,  most people’s love will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

God does not take lawlessness lightly. He has called His saints to be holy. He has called His saints to be upright, obeying the law. He has called us to be light to the darkness of the world. He has called us to freedom in Him.

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  Galatians 5:13

My heart is so heavily burdened with the response of “God’s people” to the events happening in the world today. We are so self focused, worried about ourselves and the injustices we see all around us. Making known our own opinions about what is right in our own eyes. Taking our freedom of speech so far as to bring dishonor to God’s name.

I believe God is using the events of today to call His people back to Him. To repent of our sin, the greatest of which is:

But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4

🌹Repent. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words to bring life to the unsaved and glory to God.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
