Listen To The Word

Listen to the word of the Lord, O sons of Israel,
For the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land,
Because there is no faithfulness (truth) or kindness (loyalty)
Or knowledge of God in the land. — Hosea 4:1

Be Transformed

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the  renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. — Romans 12:2

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. — Colossians 3:2

if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. — Ephesians 4:21-24

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others,   snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh. — Jude 1:20-23

How is your transformation coming? Does God have your attention? Are you setting your mind on the things above? Are you being taught the truth, Jesus Christ, by reading your Bible, taking part in a study group, listening to the Word of God preached? Are you building up your faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, and keeping yourself in the love of God? Are you anxiously awaiting Jesus’ return and telling others of His mercy and grace?

How are you renewing your mind for the purpose of God — knowing and fulfilling His will?

Again. Does God have your attention?

Exchanging Truth?

For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. — Romans 1:25

Are you settling for the lie? Do you KNOW the truth?

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. — John 14:6

that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. — John 14:17

and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”

34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36 So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. 38 I speak the things which I have seen with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father.”

39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus *said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham. 40 But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. 41 You are doing the deeds of your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father: God.”42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? — John 8:32-46

Truth or lies. The choice is yours. Do you know the truth? If you do you hear and accept the truth. If not you are settling for a bunch of lies. To know the truth, seek Jesus in His Word and through prayer.

The Whole Truth

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” — John 31-32

How many times have I heard verse 32 quoted, “and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free”. How quick we are to cling and quote the promises of God and miss the warnings.

Don’t get me wrong I love verse 32 because it is God’s Word and it is a verse of hope. But . . . God’s Word is only effective to those who hear, respond and obey. To those who seek Him continually through His Word.

How many of you “saved” Christians — done the prayer thing, went forward at church, were baptized — open the Word of God, study it and obey it? If we are going to accept the truth of God’s promises, we need to accept the whole truth.

But My Eyes Are Open

Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus. — Acts 9:8

How many times have you been led by the hand to church on a Sunday morning (for some Saturday night)? I know as a child I was led by the hand of my mother. For years I was led as a blind person, my eyes open but seeing nothing.

How many are sitting in churches this morning, being led by family members, friends, routine, tradition or duty and though their eyes are open, they see nothing? This breaks my heart.

Are you praying for the congregation that you sit with, that the eyes of their hearts will be open? That the message of Jesus Christ would be proclaimed from the pulpit in truth? And have you examined the eyes of your heart to see if you are seeing 20/20?

The church needs reviving and it begins with the individual. I hope you see the Light clearly and pray for healing from the blindness that is invading our churches.

Guide Me

Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. — Acts 8:30-31

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. — John 14:26

If Jesus is your Savior and Lord you are never without the Teacher. Don’t be afraid. Open your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. — John 16:13

Let’s Worship

Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. — Psalm 95:6

Yes, let us. He deserves our worship and praise but do we earnestly practice and seek Him in worship with our whole heart, our whole being, in spirit and truth?

I am guilty and ashamed to admit that I neglect the worship of the Lord as He deserves.

Join me as we put into daily practice prayer, seeking, and worship of our Mighty God continually!!!

Jesus’ prayer for us. Sanctified by the word of truth.

Are you in the word of truth? To know the truth you must read the truth.

Silent

They came to Capernaum; and when He was in the house, He began to question them, “What were you discussing on the way?” But they kept silent, for on the way they had discussed with one another which of them was the greatest. — Mark 9:33-34

Have you ever experienced a moment when one question just shuts you up? Jesus already knew what the disciple’s discussion was about. They knew that they were in the wrong by their discussion.

God’s Word has a way to silence us when we take it as the truth it is. The important thing is that we heed God’s Word and allow His Word to transform us to be like Jesus. Read God’s Word and let it convict and teach so we need not be silent before our Lord.
